Jewish Women’s Aid is the only charity in the UK working with Jewish women, and their children, affected by domestic violence. We run a refuge, client support service, counselling, children’s service, helpline and education, training and awareness raising programmes.
We are currently looking to recruit an:
EXPERIENCED CLIENT SUPPORT WORKER
to join our casework team
21 hours per week
from £15,642 (FTE £26,070) depending on experience
Applicants who hold either the appropriate SafeLives IDVA or Women’s Aid DAPA qualification will be prioritised.
JWA’s client support service provides a vital lifeline for women experiencing physical, emotional, financial and sexual abuse. The team offers practical and emotional support including: risk and needs assessment, key work, safety planning and benefits. They also assist women to access counselling and legal advice.
The client support team is based in Barnet, with outreach work across London and surrounding areas. It is envisaged that this post will expand JWA’s outreach work.
You’ll be enthusiastic, empathic and creative, and able to work with people under stress. You will already have experience of working with vulnerable and high risk groups, ideally with women. Experience of domestic violence casework, and knowledge of the Jewish community is also essential.
