Women and Girls Network (WGN) are looking to appoint a highly motivated, skilled and experienced Advice Caseworker to join our Ascent Advice Service.

We are looking for an experienced practitioner who will thrive in a multi-cultural feminist environment. You will have a proven track record of working within a multi-agency framework, delivering advice, advocacy and casework support within an empowering environment to women and girls who are experiencing gender-based violence and abuse. A key aspect of this role will be working with young women and girls (age 14 to 25), therefore experience of working with young women and girls and an in-depth understanding of issues young women face is essential.

We will provide you regular clinical supervision, access to our on-going CPD programme and the opportunity to work in a leading multi-cultural feminist organisation.

This post is based in Ealing and involves travel across London.

Women and Girls Network (WGN) is a specialist therapeutic service leading in developing and delivering innovative and effective counselling services for women and girls who have experienced all forms of gender-based violence.

We aim to ensure we are proactive in developing specialist services which meet the needs of all the women and girls who access our services. We seek a practitioner who will thrive in a multi-cultural feminist environment.

We are currently looking for a Senior Counsellor to work in collaboration with WGN’s Clinical Management Team to support our specialist counselling services.

This is an exciting opportunity, working with a diverse remit to ensure quality of therapeutic provision and innovation is central to service delivery. The successful applicant will have a background in and be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team in a VAWG specialist organisation
  • Experience of providing counselling and clinical supervision
  • Experience of liaising and working collaboratively with other professionals and stakeholders
  • Be BACP or UKCP accredited and have experience of providing a range of counselling interventions for women who have experienced gender-based violence
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of gender responsive approach, trauma focused, holistic therapeutic responses and multicultural competencies
  • Be able to facilitate recovery and responding to a diverse client group with multiple cultural identities

This post is based across Ealing and Hammersmith & Fulham and involves travel across London.

Claudia Jones Organisation is the lead partner in Hackney Women’s Haven – a BIG Lottery Funded Women and Girls Initiative. Claudia Jones Organisation primarily supports and empowers women and families of African and Caribbean heritage, providing culturally sensitive services that meet the needs of these women and families. You will be joining the organisation at a crucial time in the development of this project.

Advance delivers nationally accredited, quality marked services in Hammersmith & Fulham, Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea. We work within a coordinated partnership response to domestic violence to provide independent domestic violence advocacy and support for women, children and young people and women’s community services for women who are involved in the criminal justice system, in anti-social behaviour or are at risk of breaking the law.

The Duty IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specializing in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service.

Solace Women’s Aid

North London Rape Crisis Helpline volunteer

Closing Date: 5pm Monday 14 August 2017

Time: 12 hours per month for 1 year

Description:

North London Rape Crisis is currently looking for helpline volunteers to provide support to women and girls age 13+ who have experienced any form of sexual violence at any time in their lives. The volunteers will be required to commit to 12 months post training and to attend a 10 week training course on Fridays from 15th September to 17th October. You are required to attend 80% of the sessions to be able to proceed to working on the helpline. You will need to have an interest in working with survivors of sexual violence and will have the opportunity to work towards an OCN accredited qualification for ‘Professionals Working in the Sexual Violence Sector’ at level 2 or 3.

Please note that our volunteer opportunities are open to women only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1), and that these volunteer roles are exempt from the rehabilitation of offenders act 1974 and subject to enhanced DBS checks.

Advance’s Minerva service works with women involved in the Criminal Justice System offering safe, targeted support and advocacy to women to help them address their complex needs in relation to the 9 pathways to offending, such as substance misuse and financial difficulties.

The post holder will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, be able to remain calm in a crisis and be confident in handling sensitive information on a daily basis.
